2016 iVIE Awards

San Diego CUE was proud to again co-sponsor the Innovative Video in Education (iVIE) Awards.  The 2016 ceremony took place on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Coronado Performing Arts Theater at Coronado High School.
At the iVIEs, SDCUE Sponsored its 2nd Annual “Bill Simpson Award.” This year’s winner is Olivia Hannigan, from L.R. Green Elementary,  whose students created ”Making It Rain.” The award was presented by our Board Member, Terri Price,

The “Bill Simpson Award” is to recognize one student, teacher, or class who demonstrates deep learning and appreciation for the video production process when creating their iVIE entry.
Bill Simpson was the co-founder of the iVIE awards in 2001, an active SDCUE member, and devoted much of his life to promoting the use of technology for students throughout San Diego County.

SDCUE also sponsored snacks for volunteers & student presenters.

Classroom of the Future Foundation to Award Innovation in Technology Awards

Each year, the Classroom of the Future Foundation (CFF) presents awards to innovative educators and programs in San Diego. As part of the CFF awards, SDCUE is proud to sponsor the Innovation in Technology award to recognize excellence in innovation to an SDCUE member. Winners receive a $1,000 stipend,registration for 5 to the SDCUE Tech Fair, and are honored at the annual Classroom of the Future Foundation dinner and awards event in May.
This year we had so many applicants for our SDCUE Innovative Educator Award that we decided to split the award in to two categories: Classroom Teacher and TOSA.

Both will be honored at the Classroom of the Future Foundation Awards on May 25th at University of San Diego.

Dr. Jeffrey Felix - "Innovative Superintendent." Jeff is a SDCUE member.

Dr. Laura Spencer - "Innovative Educator."  Laura is 1st President of SDCUE.

Most Likely to Succeed

SDCUE in conjunction with West Hills High School invites San Diego educators, parents and students to view Most Likely to Succeed, a film which makes the case that our students need a different set of skills to do well in a world of innovation. Join members of your community May 23rd in a critical conversation about what you can do to move education forward.
